The first poppin’ nail color of the new year is Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear Blue Icing. It’s actually an old seasonal nail polish that I purchased last winter that I rediscovered a few weeks ago.
I love this color cause it is the perfect pale winter blue, with miniscule splashes of glittery dots, and larger rectangular glitter sprinkled throughout. The tiny sparkly bits don’t stand out as the longer, rectangular ones do but that’s ok with me. The polish itself looks like a metallic powder blue that shines without a topcoat.
It’s definitely different from the typical darker mahogany’s and plum’s used during the winter months. Although I love those types of polishes, it can get kind of boring after a while. This has a little bam-in-your face without being overkill, and I loves it.
It’s a vibrant royal blue. It has minute splashes of sparkle that makes it almost iridescent. It’s Essie Aruba Blue and it’s poppin’ folks. I saw it and had to have it.
When I started my most recent hunt for blue nail polishes, this is exactly what I had in mind. So this week I am dedicating Essie Aruba Blue as the Poppin’ Nail Color of the Week.
Apparently I’ve had the blues lately. Something about the color has been speaking to my nails, so here’s another blue Poppin’ Nail Color of the Week. This time’s it’s Confetti’s Blue Bombshell. It’s a bright, shiny blue color that I’ve been eyeing for a while this summer, and finally decided to get. It reminds me of that clear, pristine ocean blue water that you find on exotic islands.
FYI: I took these pics a couple of weeks ago, and was supposed to post then, but the lazy fairy dropped by and I didn’t. Womp womp …
We are tag teaming once again. I had initially decided to wear just Sinful Colors Hot Shot on my nails, but I found the deep navy blue color a little boring. I threw the shimmery purple Jesse’s Girl Confetti on top, and it gave it a glittery, iridescent look that I liked.
“It’s like candayyy.” Shout out to Cameo and “Candy” . That was my ma’s song back in the day! I was mouthing the words as I admired my nails after applying Wet N’ Wild Wild Shine’s Red Red. I’m not one for red nail polish, especially bright red, but this ish right here?! This ish right here?! I’m all about it. This vampy, classy red polish is poppin’ with a capital P. It’s a flat nail color, but it doesn’t need all that extra shimmer or glitter. It’s perfect just the way it is. It reminds me of Dita Von Teese and her signature red lips or The Women (the ORIGINAL 1939 film) and getting a manicure in jungle red.
Metallics were my go to nail color in high school, and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Steely Gaze takes me back. Seems like everything comes around full circle, and nail polish is no exception.
This is a classy nail color. It’s a polished, gun-metal grey that shines without a top coat. Bold without being bam-all-in-your-face, it’s a nice color for the fall/winter seasons. Not bright, but not too dark. I didn’t plan on wearing this color alone (I had ideas…), but I loves it. I definitely see this being in heavy rotation.
Purchased @ Walgreens for $1.99 + tax.
I have gone to the dark side. And I like it.
Since fall has pretty much arrived, I’ve been shopping darker hued polishes. I’ve been wanting to try Confetti polishes for a while now, and this gave me the opportunity to do it.
This color is poppin’ cause it is a rich, deep burgundy that has a hint of golden shimmer that prevents it from being bland. I am wearing a top coat for gloss, but the color speaks for itself.
